Victim Impact Statements and police reports are also important parts of my translation work. These statements and reports are as varied as the victims and officers who write them. They describe the details that a person witnessed about a crime or the effects of a crime.
These documents are often important for telling a client’s story about what happened, when, and to whom. When you or your client want the United States or foreign document translated, be sure not to cut corners with someone who could leave out an important part of the story! Law professors and lawyers in the United States often refer to clients as “fact experts.” In order for these experts to have ALL of the facts, make sure to have these prior statements and reports available in both English and Spanish!
